FBA NDCA

Mission

The mission of the Federal Bar Association (“FBA”) is to strengthen the federal legal administration of justice by serving the interests and the needs of the Federal Practitioner, both public and private, and the federal judiciary function for the Northern District of California. The FBA promotes professional competence and ethical conduct of members of the federal legal profession.

For many years the Northern District of California (“NDCA”) has been one of the most active in the country, bringing together the bench and bar for educational programs and social events. We are committed to serving the needs of federal practitioners, Judges, courts, and the Northern District of CA community. Our membership reflects all facets of the federal legal community, including Judges, civil practitioners, criminal defense attorneys, prosecutors, administrative agency layers, and academics.

Our Chapter has hosted outstanding programs to advance federal jurisprudence and provide a networking forum for our members. In past years, many of these programs were held at the Northern District of California courthouses and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. We continue to benefit from the bench’s participation as event moderators and speakers. Our Chapter’s success is due mainly to the participation and support of our federal Judges – Ninth Circuit, U.S. District Court, Magistrate, and Bankruptcy – as well as attorneys from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Attorneys from the office of the Federal Public Defender, and the Northern District’s Clerk of Court.
